If we are to believe the rumours, the significantly refreshed GS460 has a 4.6L V8 with only 342HP, the current 6 speed (not the 8 speed), and orange gauges (a step backwards from the current gauges) .
Let's wait for the OFFICIAL announcement (which can't get here soon enough judging by all this anticipation).

Quoted for truth. All this speculation is just getting plain ridiculous.

Who comes up with this stuff?

F'ing 80's LED inspired orange/red would be nothing short of disastrous. This is precisely one of the main reasons why I will never own an Audi or BMW. Red/orange screams STOP/WARNING; blue/green swoons chill/go/breathe. I want a calming, soothing, relaxing, peaceful ambience in my cabin, not some rage inspiring spectrum devoid of taste. If true, this would be an abomination, and for me, the final death knell for my interest in this car.

But I must admit that lexus gauges look so much better.

I too would be very turned off if Lexus starts using orange gauges. It just screams "me too".

Do you really think Toyota, world-renowned for comfort and ergonomics, would *purposely* make the gauges with a color that is most straining to the eyes?
I've driven many Toyota and Lexus models for extended periods of time at night, and I've never felt my eyes straining. On BMW and Nissan models, that is a different story.
Besides, the gauges are not pure blue as they usually have a mixture of white color there as well.

In fact, there is a link from Lexus that talks about Opitron gauges:
Optitron Technology, which was pioneered by Lexus, improves clarity and reduces eye fatigue. Whatever the driving conditions, you'll be able to read the instruments, with their illuminated needles, quickly and accurately.
Let's not jump to conclusions now. If the GS460 in-fact does have the 8 speed/380HP combo, then it will likely hit 0 - 60 below 5 sec and 1/4 mile deep into the 13s. With that sort of performance, you'd be able to easily take out an Infiniti M45, 550i, and even an E550.

I think we're taking this silly rumour a bit too far .

Wow, so I guess Lexus gauges don't cause eye strain .

But then again, things aren't looking too promising for a 380hp/8-speed GS460 to happen.

I believe MT might meant 392 HP for the GS 460. That would be stupid for Lexus to detuned the new 4.6 by almost 40 hp. when Infiniti new M50 will probaly have 400 or more hp.
