Just some food for thought: if this REALLY was official, it would be on the front page of pressroom.toyota.com ... but it's not.
So there is still a tiny bit of hope. The PDF file may just be dealer/training info all part of a deception campaign (however doubtful)

Maybe they want the hybrid to stay as the the top of the line model?? Price wise it is and they have been marketing it for the past 2 years as a performance hybrid. I guess from a performance standpoint it didnt make sense for them to have a cheaper car with considerably more hp out perform it??

I'm just why they put in the non-direct injection engine...they do use the 340 hp 1UR-FE in the Middle East on the LS 460, and the 228 hp 3GR-FE in China and the Middle East for the IS 300...evidently because of the gasoline available there.

That is one big shocker. The 2008 GS 460 will have 342 horses. One would figure that it would at least have 380 horses just like the LS 460. Oh well, maybe Lexus did that for a reason. Hopefully the 2009 or 2010 GS will get bumped up to 380 or more. Oh well...take it for what it is...

No more griping and complaining so let's look at a few things.
Even with "only" 342HP it still weighs less than the competition and has 339lb. torque. This should enable it to equal or beat the GS450h 0-60 time of 5.2 sec. I'm thinking 5.1...........That puts it right in BMW 550i territory.
Black leather now comes with black trim- that is gonna look HOT.
Remember Lexus is not just about raw horsepower but also luxury and finesse.
If the 460 can keep up with the 550i who cares if it has 18 less ponies?
So stop yer
