I don't even know what to believe anymore. That press release is a mess. The more I read it, the more mistakes pop up. How is anyone supposed to take the news as official with so many mistakes?
Good catch Stardust. That cc figure does not match the 4.6L displacement. I was about to post that myself. That to me looks like the 4.3L 3UZ cc number.
Also, the compression ratio listed is 10.5:1 for the GS460, which is exactly the same CR used by the GS430.
The compression ratio for the 1UR-FE (if that actually is the engine the GS460 will be using) is 10.8:1, and not the 10.5:1 listed.
I wish we were looking at GS460 specs for middle east markets, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

This is very disappointing. With the M45 refresh actually fixing some of the (read "my") issues with it--namely changing out the orange lighting for electroluminescent blue, tightening up those honking taillights, making the nav touchscreen in additional to dial controlled and voice activated, adding hard drive-based MP3 playback, available AWD V8 configuration, etc.--not to mention that the M50 name is already registered and therefore on the horizon, Lexus is coming up short with the GS here. Bring the 535i/550i and E550 into the mix and it's hard to argue for the GS. You can get a much sportier and fun to drive car with the M45 or 535i/550i (haven't driven the E550, so can't say whether one with the Sport package compares well), and you can get Lexus-like reliability with the M45. For that matter, frankly I've had good reliability experiences with Audi and BMW as well, but I won't try to argue that the Germans are up there on the reliability front these days. However, it's not like the 3GS is holding up on the reliability front like a Lexus should...
Gotta say, if I were in the market for a luxury sport sedan (and I will be next spring when my S4's warranty runs out), I think the refreshed M45 Sport would win if I were to go for an automatic and either the 535i or 550i would win if I decide to keep a manual tranny (which I currently plan to do). The B8 S4 is looking very promising, too, though...

I don't understand what Lexus is doing. I think Lexus is to much focused on their battery packs than what people really want. They should use the battery packs in cars such as the es and the RX not the GS and the flagship "y". People who buy's a 100k car is not worried about MPG they want the V-10 or V-12.
Lexus done real good in the last gen GS The car was better than every car in it's class 10 years ago. Now BMW, MB ,Audi and even Infiniti has surpassed the GS. IT was real dumb for Lexus not to put the new engines in the GS when they 1st came out in 2006 that's why Infiniti M is probaly going to sell more than the GS. Thats why BMW is worried more about Infiniti than Lexus.

The exterior redesign looks great! Subtle changes that really add up to a nicer looking overall package. I haven't seen the interior yet but here's to hoping it does the same.
The HP?!? Well... let's just say this doesn't give me hope for the IS-F but... I'll continue to reserve judgment and cross my fingers.

They have 342hp for the 08 GS460 on their N.American website. If that's not official, & they somehow mistakenly put middle east specs. for the car on the N.American website(& info to the mags., as well as American Taste of Lexus officials), that would be a huge boo-boo on their part
