New Transmission after 500 miles

On the way home from work I started to notice that when shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd, it seems to slam into each gear with a big jolt. I tried accelerating very slowly but it did the same thing. I pulled over and shut the car off for a few minutes. When I started the car and drove off it was working normally again. I though that maybe it was just a computer glitch until I went to work this morning and experienced it all over again.
Anyone else ever experience this symptom?
Needless to say its back at the dealer. We will see. I have pretty much had it with this car.

I'm at about 1600 miles and no problems. Did notice some "indecisive" shifting when in stop and go traffic, but haven't noticed it much after about 800 miles. Just figured that the car is learning my driving habits. Other have also noted what I described on their cars and their loaner GS300's.
When Lexus removed the old tranny, did they provide any futher feedback? Would be interesting to see if something else is causing this and it just results in transmission problems.
Good luck finding a resolution.

Since they just shipped the first tranny off to the Lexus engineers, I've heard nothing. Apparently the dealer service techs do not work on transmissions. They just replace them.
I will see what the dealer says in a day or so.

Our '06 GS300 has a similar issue. Our's seems to be around 3rd or 4th gear. When it shifts gears it feels as if someone has tapped the rear bumper. Dealer said they couldn't duplicate. They reset the computer, but it still does it.

I talked to the dealer and they are able to reproduce the issue. They are sending the captured computer data back to Lexus. I guess they are not sure what to do about it. As costanza posted, resetting the computer doesn't fix the issue, so it will be interesting to see what they end up doing.

I've got a little over 600 miles now and I do notice a slight hesitation (the only way I can think to describe it) shifting between 1st and 2nd when in stop and go traffic. It usually occurs when just trying to slowly move forward with traffic at less than 5mph.

So much for reliability from a Lexus.

Just kidding, hope everything works out for you.

At what point can you pursue the lemon law?
