Default Bluetooth Cellular Recommendations

It may be time for me to upgrade my cell service and phone to include Bluetooth. I've read several posts here about Bluetooth, but I was wondering what your current thoughts are on using Bluetooth functionality in the GS. I currently have Verizon and I don't care about transferring my address book. Do you like it? Does it it work well? I'm a light user of cell phones.

Any thoughts on service providers for the Charlotte, NC area? Lastly, any recommendations for a basic phone with Bluetooth that you know works good with the GS?

Thanks.

I use Verizon and have the Motorola E815, which works perfectly with the GS. Sounds crystal clear and people on the other side don't even know I'm calling them from my car.

Default Motorola SLVR L7

Anyone have any feedback on the Cingular SLVR L7's compatability with the 2006 GS bluetooth functions?

Default GS Bluetooth functionality stinks

I find that it just a so-so hands free set-up. Dialing is a pain, reception is marginal, no voice dialing.
Not what you would expect from Lexus.

I've got Cingular and a Razor also, and it works fine for me. Although where I live in Irvine Calif, there are very bad reception spots, I'm still quite happy overall.

Should be no different than the RAZR

Actually the RAZR's reception is pretty superior to most phones out there (yes, some phones get better reception than others). In this case though, you can probably blame the network for that one

Has anyone used a Sprint Samsung A900 (Blade) with their 06 GS bluetooth? Ive heard that these phones are really picky on pairing with Bluetooths in cars.

Same setup here, Cingular and Razr, with good results. In the New York City area.

not only is hard to pair but will have other problems once hooked up. It displays phantom calls and drops off at times. Not compatible at this time. Samsung phones in general have been problematic with the Lexus Bluetooth. Try another phone...

I got my Samsung Blade to pair. It works pretty well. I notice sometimes when I dial out while driving via through the phone, for some reason, it wont go through the Bluetooth even though it shows on my phone that it is. Then other times, it works like a charm. Well I guess these are the things Im going to run into since I have a Samsung.

all these problems you people are experiencing are problems with the phone's firmware.

if you're using verizon phones you're screwed because verizon has very tight control on the bluetooth options of their phones. verizon is just bastardly like that and they limit EVERYTHING on their phones.

Default Choppy Reception

Okay, so I got my Blackberry 7520 all sync'd up, and it works, but even when I have full reception (3-4 bars), my contact on the other end of the line is complaining about my voice being all chopped up. Meanwhile, I can hear everything he is saying crystal clear.

Any ideas?
