I noticed a noise today when I made a full U-Turn.
Desctiption of noise heard: Sounded like the high pitched sound when you need new brakes. Well, not necessarily need new brakes but my Chevy Tahoe always makes a high pitched sound when it brakes.
Conditions:
- Weather - dry road approx. 58F
- Weight - driver +2 passengers
- Trim - GS300AWD model
- Modifications - Lowered Tanabe NF210
After hearing it the first time I went to repeat the situation in a parking lot and the noise occured. However, it doesn't make the noise when I make a right U-Turn, only left.
When my other two passengers exited the vehicle I drove around the parking lot again. I did a bunch of figure 8's and the noise occured again but went away and I couldn't get it to make the sound. Any input would be great. I plan on taking it back to the shop to do a visual inspection on the rack.

I hope so to. In theory, our vehicle uses a variable gear ratio rack and pinion steering system. It's not anything that would be out of the ordinary compared to other systems on the market. Actually, it's like a rack and pinion steering system for FWD vehicles.
I don't think it ever made the sound before I got the springs installed. Anyways, that's the only thing I noticed and it happens on a full U-Turn (intermitently). Well, I called the guys at the shop that installed the springs and all I have to do is bring it by for a diagnostic.

Update: I've been trying to replicate the sound and it has not re-occured. I have performed multiple full u-turns both left and right. Also, figure eights. It may be have been because it was the first time I did a full u-turn since lowering or because there was significantly more weight in the car. The main thing is that it could not be replicated with me and our baby in the car.
