2006 GS300 Headlights
Hi i just bought a 2006 gs300 and i was wondering if anyone else is having problems with the headlights. It does not provide enough foward illumination and the other day i almost hit a tire when driving on the freeway. So does anyone know how i can fix this problem?

I know someone here did suspension mods and thats where the sensors are. Have you done any mods to your sways? If so, you might have knocked a sensor out of place and the light might not be functioning normally as a result.
Just my $0.02.

Park the car up to a white wall, or your garage door. Make sure both lights are pointed at the same level. Then get out and see if one bulb is brighter than the other or not. If there is a problem, then take it to the dealer to get it checked. You might want to ask the dealer anyway even if you dont find anything wrong.
There are other options to make the lights brighter such as modified ballasts, but those can be pretty expensive and will voud the warranty on the headlights.

This appears to be a common complaint of the 3GS's headlights. Check out this thread:

The thread discusses rattles then gets OT with the headlight discussion.

There are many complaints even some including myself who registered our complaints with the NHTSA. You can search complaints on their website at www.nhtsa.gov . . .The lights are adjustable upward and the instructions are included in the user guide so you can direct your dealer's attention there.

There's two active threads on this topic. Maybe they should be merged?
I checked my GS's headlight levels and I found the low beams were right on. The driver's side vertical alignment high been was off by 2-3 tick marks. I was going to adjust it myself but I couldn't determine from the manual the location of the alignment screws. In addition, I saw the small sticker on the headlight leveler that read that if you adjust one level, such as vertical, it's also going to affect horizontal alignment. So, I just took my car to the dealer today and they adjusted the levels while I waited.
The service rep explained to me that a lot of people make the same complaint about HIDs. He thinks the visibility is better than standard headlights, but because the HID's have such a narrow beam, the perception most people have is that the lights don't cast enough light.
