Dude~ The speedo doesn't even read as high as you are boasting, how are you getting these numbers? Something is not right with you claims. No stock GS would achieve close to 170 mph, I have heard that the limiters kick in anywhere between 149 and 153. The rev limiter is what we are talking about here. Either your not telling us something about your car or you are blowing smoke. Sorry to put you on the spot but things are not adding up here.

Had to have been pretty late at night. The 118 is pretty busy. Then again, considering that the distance between the 405 and 5 on the 118 is only about one mile, I don't see you could accelerate to that speed in such a small distance. Also considering that there are some pretty good turns of the freeway in that area, your vehicle must be generating at least 2g's of downforce to make those corners at 170mph.
I'd have to say you meant 75mph instead in your post or you are counting in km's.
Oh to address the topic, I've only been to 100mph in my Lexus. At 2am in the morning I once cruised along at about 135 in my Camaro on the I5 up in the desert. At those speeds, things come up pretty quick.

I noticed that in my friend's 540 going about 110 in a flat stretch of I-5, it didn't feel that much different than going normal freeway speeds. In my other friend's TL, it seemed like any slight bump would cause us to loose control. Hard to describe.

The TL, well if its an auto, it has 2 overdrive gears, so when it hits 100mph, that is about it. And yes, like most Asian sedans, stock, it feels very uncomfortable and unstable at that speed. The TL was made for America in America for Americans. That means cupholders and seat warmers

151mph @ 4500rpm, 1500rpm should have the room to 170mph
