20 inch Lowenharts was told sensor wont go in the 30 series tire. My dealer restes the light in the dash. Never had stock wheels on. Car has 6k miles. Sensor light comes back on around every 2k miles

My 20" iforged wheels should be installed this weekend. I have an extra set of tire sensors that I am going to put on the iforged. My installer explained to me why the sensors won't fit on a multi piece wheel. The valve stem hole is not angled like a one piece wheel, it's at a right angle. He said there is a kit that can strap the sensor on and from what he told me it's pretty reliable and he's done it on other cars.

After doing more research on this site I don't think I want to install the sensors with a strap. It makes sense, with all of the vibration from the road and everything else it is bound to come loose or move around unless it was bonded with a specific loctite or actually bolted.

My light finally came on (after 1K miles) but it goes away periodically... from my past experience playing with sensors, the drilling is the best option, but DO NOT under any circumstances let an unexperienced shop do it.... I can't drill my wheels since they are loaners from a friend so I'll just live with it for the time being...

I actually seen the stainless steel straps. They are used on aftermarket tire pressure sensor kits for RV's and motorcycles. The strapping method must be durable

I lucked out! My new iforged 2 piece wheels are designed to work with OEM tire sensors without the strap. The valve stem hole is on an angled fillet (similar to one piece wheels). I bought the tire sensors for $84/ea and the mounting hardware for $8.50/ea from Magnussen Lexus of Fremont (with 15% off coupon). That's actually a good price considering that i was quoted between $110 - $220. All need is the sensors to be registered.

1. If they're custom made to the specific car hopefully they tailor the rims for the sensors
2. I would assume using the strap because I've seen RV and motorcycle applications where they use the strap for aftermarket TPMS on stock wheels.

I also had the same problem but, do you remember if you ever did set up the tire pressure monitor system, if you dont then light will never come on even if you have the factory wheels on. For you guys trying to disable the monitor system, sorry out of gas.
