Default Tire Pressure Sensors?

I have aftermarket wheels and tires on order. I want to keep using the TPMS but do not want to transfer my stock tire sensors to the new wheels because I might want to switch back to the stocks for whatever reason.

I called around and I received very high quotes from dealers for tire sensors ($140-$200). I went to Magnussen Lexus of Fremont and was quoted approx. $102/ea and $8.50/ea for the adapter. I had a 15% off parts coupon and it came to aprox. $84/ea for the sensors. Do you guys think this is a good deal?

Also, is it possible to use 2 different sets of tire sensors with the TPMS or do they have to be re-registered. E.g. If I were to register the new sensors on the new wheels thru the dealer do I have to go back to the dealer to re-register the old sensors if I put the stocks back on?

Price sounds good but I am not too upto date on pricing.

As far as the sensors and registration the car is equiped to run a "winter" set and a "summer" set of tires there for the system accepts 8 TPS registrations. on the passenger side of the car under the glove box is a button with position 1 and 2 your factory sensors are on number one. You new set of 4 will have to be programed into postion 2. after that you just push the button when you cange tires. The Registration/ serial numbers are in small print on the back of the sensor write these down before they are installed otherwise they will have to dismount each tire to get the numbers off them. Hope that helps

Cool! Actually, the dealer told me the exact same thing but I just wanted another opinion. Thanks!
