Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone had considered the BMW 530XI over the GS300 AWD and why did they go instead to the LExus GS300AWD. I love both cars but the GS has a better design and quality and the GS350 awd will have much more power than the BMW 530XI. LEt me know certain reasons why. I know the BMW handles the turns better,etc, but give me more reasons. My father wants me to get the BMW, but I rather take the Lexus. My father himself has owned 3 lexus in the last 10 years but got the 2006 Audi A8L. I guess he wants German cars now.

the bmw handles a lot better and also has better braking imho (not saying the gs300 has bad brakes though). the bmw also gives you much better road feel than the gs300

other than that, i dotn' see other resaon to go with 530. especially if you compare it with the gs350, which has more hp and much faster

I was in the same exact boat as you when I was considering my new car purchase. My dad also wanted me to get the 530xi but my main reason for going with the GS300 AWD was because of reliability. All the horror stories I've heard put me off from selecting a BMW. Also, compared to Lexus, BMW's have fugly interiors (don't mean to offend any BMW owners). I would go with the GS350 AWD.

I faced the same decision.

I was trading my 03 530i. Aside from the fact that Bangle ruined a very bueatiful car the BMW was certainly more hard edged. Comfort is sacrificed for performance. Did I mention (I) drive that horendious interface between man and machine?

I went with the GS because performance was very close even though the Bimmer does have better road feel. The Lexus is certainly more comfortable and well though out in terms of interior ergonomics. Ride is much more comfortable when you get rid of the run flats yet boday roll is minimal. 0-60 times were identical. Brakes are very equal on both cars.

I couldn't bring myself to spend 60K on an ugly car. With all the other considerations the GS was a no brainer.

IMO, the design of the GS is much better looking than the 5 series for both exterior and interior. When I see a GS on the road, the GS has more of a wow factor than the 5 series. I think all BMW are over price and the ride are too rough for my taste. With Lexus you get more for your money. Definitely wait for the GS350 AWD. That's the bomb.

I like the exterior design of the new 5 series. The lines are amazing to me. I actually like the design of the 5 series better than the 7 series. So why did I go GS, you ask? Long term reliability, comfort, and don't get me wrong I do like the looks. I think there are just some of us who KNOW FOR CERTAIN that they're either a Lexus owner or a BMW owner. I'M A LEXUS OWNER PERIOD! Never had a BMW, NEVER WILL.

TO ALL! I AM gonna get the GS350, since it looks so much better inside and out than the BMW 530 XI and has better reliability, options, and standard equipments. I think I might get the glacier frost mica, mercury metallic, or blue onyx with ash interior. Thanks you all!

The only reason to get the 530 is it has more prestige, comes with manual, and is much sportier to drive...........The interior is pure crap compared to the GS though, except for the 2k comfort seats.

dude i'll say get the blue onyx because blue has that elegant looks as well as black but with the blue, the chrome on the car i think will look better and if u decide to get the chrome wheels, it will look better with the blue than the other colors you metioned. light colors are nice but they dont have that exciting look to them, so i'll choose the blue if i were you, but either choice u pick, it will be a good choice because its on a Lexus. Good choice on the Ash interior, looks very classy. i like with the with black wood trim, looks good
