Question for GS Owners...
When Gen 5 ML is released on the GS350, is there a way for us GS300 and 430 owners with the Gen 4 ML to upgrade? Is this a simple software upgrade? Or will we never have the ability to play MP3 in the car?

Are you sure it's the ML sound system? Not the DVD Navigation system? I know for sure the new GS350 will have the Gen 5 Nav system like the ones that are being equipped on the new IS 350 and ES 350.
Since GS just got a new sound system from ML when Lexus redesign the GS, I don't think they will get an upgrade for the audio system within one year.
Again, this is only from my understanding and I could very possibly be wrong on this issue. If anyone has any updated info about this, please keep all of us posted, thanks.

this gives me even more hint that the ml system released last yr with the 06 gs430/300 was half done imho

I am officially upset now...
I feel like my ML system is from the stone age while everyone else is ahead of the times...
we should all stand together andhave lexus replace our system with the new GEn 5....

If you wanted to upgrade from the G4 to G5 system would you just need to replace the ML head unit or are there other parts? I'm assuming that the ECU doesn't care what generation of Nav System you have. The amp is in the trunk and the DVD is in the glove compartment. Would the DVD need replacement? Is the Navigation System mainly in the glove compartment or in the head unit?
