Wow, that's an old thread!
I now have 14,000 miles on my 450h, and I saw my average mileage increase from about 22.5 to 24.4 mpg. The latter figure is the average over the last 5,000 miles from the "Consumption" screen. It doesn't include any long-distance (i.e. highway) trips, just my daily commute and weekend local shopping and entertainment trips. My commute is about 5-6 miles city and 10 miles highway (frequently very congested) each way. The terrain here in Norther Virginia on my commute is fairly hilly; not San Francisco, but not Great Plains either.
When I drive on the highway, I get 29mpg at 74 mph, 30mpg at 64mpg.
