Default Side View Mirrors

Is there a way to get the side view mirrors to automatically fold-in when the car is turned off or placed in park? I always fold the mirrors when I park the car so people don't scratch them when walking by. I love the motorized folding feature but it would be better if it would do it can be programmed to do it automatically.

Not unless you manually splice some wires. I wish auto-folding mirrors were a feature as well.

By manually splicing some wire? Expand on that.

I don't actually know the process, but theoretically it should be possible to splice the power wire going to the mirrors with another wire, such as the cigarette lighter, that goes on when the car is on and off when the ignition is off.

I see what you mean. Basically, like a trigger, If something like that was performed would I lose the functionality of the button to fold the mirrors?

I'd love for that to happen as well. Can anyone figure out a way to do it?

Good question, but why would you need to fold them in when they would do so automatically when the car is turned off?

Because you might want to leave them out when washing the car?

The car looks nicer when they're out. Also, I'd like the ability to be able to unfold them if needed. E.g. if I am parked somewhere and I wanted to observe something thru the mirror.

Ahh, that makes sense. So who wants to experiment on their car?

I wouldn't want to experiment on something like this as much as I wanted to lower and put staggered wheels. No big deal but if someone does experiment, keep this thread alive.

I was kind of disappointed that the automatic folding mirrors were not on the GS. The LS has had it for a few years now. I wish there was a chip or something that could be replaced, I would do it.
