Default Tire noise in a 2006 GS300

I just purchased a new Gs300 and within a few days I had a light banging sound in the right front tire area whenever I went over bumps. I also noticed what sounded like a thumping whenever I make a right or left turn or riding on blacktop at around 40-50 mph. I brought the car back to the dealer and was informed that the strut on the right front was bad and had to be replaced. I waited a few days and had the work done. They also balanced the tires but I still hear this slight thumping sound especially when turning. I have run flat tires that came with the car. Does anyone else hear this type of noise? This car has 700 miles on it and does not seems as quiet as the 2004 RX330 I just traded in.

Run flat tires definitely generate more road noise than standard tires, but they shouldn't make a thumping sound. I've had my GS for more than a year and have never heard thumping under any condition.

THat doesn't sound normal to me, but then again I don't have the run-flats. Try taking it to a different dealership as the first one may have overlooked something. Sorry I couldn't be more help...

I've had my GS for about 1 year with Dunlop run flat tires. No thumping noise, just normal road noise.

I dont know too much about the GS but I know that the noise can also be coming from a bad upper mount. I think the dealers call it bearing plates? Good luck.

Default I found out the answer

I went back to the dealer and it turned out that one of the belts inside the tire had slipped and this was what was causing the thumping sound in the right front tire. They replaced the tire and the sound is now gone. Thanks for all the responses.
