I though about that too, but:

A) It doesn't look too bad w/ machined lip
B) HRE going back on in a month anyways
C) I'm gonna sell these off when I do ge the HRE's back
D) The wheel is a 2pc welded JDM style wheel so I can't take it apart

Big Dave! An interesting switch. I'm definitely liking the HREs better. The 841Rs are killer in brushed... you're chroming the lip? I'd chrome the inners, too if you're going to go all that trouble!

One word of caution; the HREs fit together very tightly; with the additional thickness of the chrome on the lip you might have a hard time reassembling them. Before plating them, I would sand a little material off of the inner diameter of the rim opening to provide a little additional clearance for the chrome. This can be done fairly easily with a sanding disk on a drill. You only need about .010" or so. It will make reassembly much easier, trust me.

By the way, have you seen Glen's GS with 841s? Simply stunning!
Can't wait to see a 3GS with the same wheel/finish combo...

What's going on Bobaloo! The lips are already chrome. I just felt they needed a "deep conditioning" seeing that Davis (Ray's bro) added some "custom designs" from the curb that "jumped out" at him. So, it should be no major issue. Thanks for the heads up though. Any advice from you is always appreciated....

I was trying to get rid of those HRE's, but I have a feeling I'm going to want to keep them once they've had their "makeover"

Sorry to hear about the "curb customizing!"

The 841R in black doesn't do it justice. If you decide to sell them, I suspect they'll sell faster in brushed...

I miss mine!

The Brushed finish will look really good with your color. You should have someone PS my rims on your car. I'd be curious to see that.

Sorry for going off topic.

LEXUS_KID,

PM sent... BTW, sorry forgot to mention this... NEO got first dibs after they come back from re-finishing... He's been by a couple times and it was his original idea to do the re-finish...
