Sorry to hear of your misfortune. My car was broken into once. I've learned since then to never keep anything that could possibly be of value to anyone in plain sight; I always hide everything in the trunk. This includes aftermarket radios, radar detectors, GPS units, clothing, even spare change (dimes, quarters, etc.). I do draw the line at my EZPass, but if I were less lazy I'd hide even that. Anyway, I hope you recover your DVDs at least, but if not, try to look at the positives. Keep your head up...

You should take the surveillance tape to a photo lab or a film specialist to see if they can enhance the images. Maybe get the plate number that way? If not, you maybe able to get a better description of the truck and/or person. Remember, it's like looking for a needle in a hay stack.....but then again, it's a small world.
This reminds me of this time I parked my M3 at a club right before it was going to close since I was meeting some friends that would be leaving. Since everyone was in the club, the parking was pretty empty. As I'm walking away from my car, this bald guy walks past me(assuming he's leaving). Since I didn't want to pay to go inside, I was hanging out outside, and ran back to my car to grab something. Well as I'm walking up to my car, the car next to me was gone and the entire passenger side of my car was keyed.
Well, I remembered seeing this little blue led alarm light that moved back and forth like the night rider light, in the window of the car that was parked next to my car when I had walked away 2 minutes earlier. Anyways, long story short, I found the car a few months later, saw the same guy who walked pass me that night, bald dude, and put 1 and 1 together and got 11! haha Well, revenge is a dish best served cold. He got was he deserved.
Moral of the story, not to do anything illegal of course
, but you maybe able to locate/narrow in on the person and then take it to the cops. Or in your hands at your own risk of course.
Sorry to hear about your troubles,
