Yes I agree there are a good amount of GS's in California. Also production has slowed down and people are also waiting for the GS 350 coming this fall and the GS 460 coming spring of 2007...

The GS is still my first choice, and the Infiniti M comes in a very close second. Its hard to keep up with a lot of the new cars these days. I only heard about the new GS after i bumped into one in the lot of my local dealer. Im not sure if it was me, but for some reason Lexus didnt promote this car very much. It seems that this car has reached its popularity only by word of mouth. At times when i notice drivers next to me checking the car out, its like they cant figure out what it is.

I think one of the reasons the GS line is not selling very well is that there wasnt a large number of them manufactured. I heard that Lexus didnt want the streets flooded with 430's so the output of vehicles was kept down, but then again i could be wrong.

Does anyone know the numbers of manufactured GS line? What is the difference is numbers between the 300, and the 430?

I don't think it's the engine that is holding the GS back. I think it's the practical issues such as interior room and trunk size. As gas prices creep up you will see a lot of people willing to give up those big V8's and a little performance for better gas mileage.

I don't think I've seen a single GS430 here in NY. As for the GS300's, I've only noticed about four others and they're all of the AWD variant.

I've only seen two GS's here is south Louisiana but about a dozen IS350's. The Infiniti M35's and 45's are very popular (seen 5 today in Target's parking lot) along with the 5 series. The LS is everywhere and so is the G35's (sedan and coupe). Even the 2nd generation GS's are not very popular down here.

I am sure with all 23 posts, you clearly have searched all the data we have here, much of it from myself on what is going on.

And of course, when you don't see a car, its not selling. I don't see many GSs either, so clearly, they are not selling, even though, Lexus sold 36k of them in a year, meeting sales targets and on pace this year to meet sales targets.

Surely, you are right and the figures we put together month after month are wrong.

You sir, are incorrect about sales, considering the GS has possibly the lowest power in class, it still sells very well. I do agree, reviews have NOT been as good as the 2GS but the car has not been called a bad car and Jeremy Clarkson, who is one hardass, picks the GS 300 as 3rd of his fav sedans

Of course you knew that, b/c you searched before starting such a ridiculous thread.

Why this kind of post from me?

Because some of us work tirelessly to get members facts and figures and pictures and reviews and scans and to start a thread based on possibly what Robert Langdon thinks of Lexus, can make the blood, well, boil, for a few seconds.

Please read up, and have a good day

I am Lexus country here in central NJ, however for some reason I don't see that many new GS's in the area. The ones I are able to see are all the GS300 AWD like the original poster said. Ther are so may RX, ES, GX here that you would think I am living in the Soccer Mom capitol of the US.

I like the look of the new GS, however would be more inspired to buy one when the GS350 or GS460 comes out with all that new power.

However I do see a lot of BMW 530s (like mine) & MB E350s, and I rarely see a 550i / E500 / GS430 on the road, however when I do, I just drool over them! Just the other day I parked next to a new GS450h the other day and those 18" rims for this hyrbrid version looked incredible!

I don't see many GS's either. But, I'm glad of it. I think the car has the best styling in its class, and the car still gathers admiring looks from other drivers and passengers. I much rather have a car that's somewhat unique with low production numbers than a high volume mass market vehicle that becomes invisible or generic on the road.

Finally we have an example of the unpopularity of a car becoming a plus for present owners. Considering I'm planning on purchasing a GS350 I'm totally for that!

I see a ton of 5 series though
