Vehicle jolting

I had this problem with my '99 GS300, fortunately it always happened at the same place so I learned to anticipate it. I thought that w/ the new 6-speed tranny, this problem would not occur in the new GS...guess I was wrong.
FWIW, my current GS does not have this problem whatsoever....tranny is smooth as silk.

My girlfriend has worked for lexus for almost 8yrs not and she has heard from numerous people that their car shifts terrible at low speed. It is real herky jerky. I personally have an 06 gs300 but its just the RWD and when I take off real slow or am in traffic the car shifts terrible.....my only real complaint....i am pretty sure that I will have at least one lexus in my house hold for the rest of my life .....

If I had a transmission that shifted abruptly as described above, I would have it at Lexus permanently until it was resolved. I have never heard of a transmission in a modern day car doing this. Years ago, transmissions had their issues. Not as much today, and certainly this is not acceptable in a $50,000 car. Sorry guys, but I would never buy a car with transmission issues. How do you expect the car to shift after 100,000 miles? There is an expression. "Sour milk doesn't get sweet" I would file a claim with Lexus to cover yourself down the road. Transmissions are expensive. Good luck.

Is it limited to being able to feel the shift from 1-2? If that's the case, then I think that's normal. However, if it feels like I hit a speed bump, then there's an issue. My experience with the GS 300 was that the transition from 1-2 wasn't seamless, but I could adapt my driving to eliminate it.
