My '06 GS300 is hitting close to 20K and is a little more than a year old. I have had absolutely no issues with the car and I am very happy with it. Well now it seems that the car "may" have an issue.

We went up Mt. Baldy this July 4th weekend for a family picnic. It started when before we left the picnic area i tried to close the sunroof but it went to about 3/4 way up and then it went back to the open position. Someone had to manually hold the front price down for it to close . On the way back we noticed an Electric/wire burn type of a smell. Some people though it was the tire or Oil buring but i am 100% sure it was electric.The smell eventually went away after about 5-10min. We got home and the sunroof was working fine.

This morning i get a call form my wife saying that on the way to work the same buring smell started to come from the car. She was very worried that (her exact quote) "is the car going to blow up " I told her dont worry if I have to i'll come to her work and switch cars to make a point that the car wont blow up. She didnt think that was funny

In any case I am planning to do some detective work after she comes from work today. And maybe take it to the dealership tommorow.

Anyone has an idea or suggestion on whats going on?

I've experienced a similar problem. At times, when I have my sunroof in the tilt position and I try and close it, it will go all the way down and then open on it own It'll take about 4-5 tries to finally get it to close.
