GS 300 owners you are okay - don't moan and groan about another GS with a bigger engine and next generation NAV. You are currently experiencing a great vehicle. Let market capitalism occur. Everything in life has its nuances - Bigger engine / more horse power could = less MPG and less $ in your bank account. New NAV (GEN 5) great feature, can't say nothing about that. When I puchased my GS 300 AWD w/ everything except ML, I did my due diligence and watched this board religiously. My findings were buy now and save later. I bought my GS for 46,100 including tax, dest and all that other stuff. My insurance went down $8 a month and I spend $42 to fill up my tank every two wks. I know, I couldn't have gotten the GS350 for $46K and less in insurance (more horsepower) and less $$ at the pump (bigger engine). So I made MY lifestyle choice.
Those who chose the GS350 - I admire you just like I do other GS 300 owners and support you.

I feel you on this. You are right. Just because the GS350 is out or soon to be, doesn't make the GS300 crap. Frankly since I now do 95% straight highway miles I don't need the extra horsepower and if the GS300 anf the GS350 was out at the same time and the 300 was 46k and 350 was 52K I would still probably take the 300. So for me the add'l HP and maybe even the better Nav isn't woth the extra 6K or so I would have to pay to get it. Now if they had changed the body style to something better............Hmmmm maybe then.
Oh, and I got my GS300 by trading in my C5 Vette and on the highway I still am not missing the HP. I do like the extra money in my pocket come fillup time !!!

I'm glad to see Lexus adding more power to the V6 GS one year after the 2006 re-design. I only hope that they do the same for the V8 GS in the fall once the LS 460 comes out instead of waiting until next year to give us a new V8 in the GS. It really wouldn't make much sense to market a 300hp GS 350 along side a 300hp GS 430 that costs thousands more!
But then, that's just me...

back to the camry point....even with more HP, the camry, es350 and GS300 get the same 0-60 time. The GS engine has direct injection that can't be beat by the es/camry/rx/rav4.
I've debated between 300 and 350 for many months. I want the fuel economy as I do lots of road trips, but I also love the kick of the IS350 and want to burn those lowly civics from a stop. I'll have to go drive the 350 when it really is here, but I agree the 300 is still a winner!

Yo! Ivan in the Great Lakes state - go get that 350 and stomp those Hondas. The 300 would do the same.

Come on you automotive jerks, lets get more creative with the names! They spend hours on designing, over engineering, and they can't even think of anything better than an increasing number.

I'm happy that Lexus is finally winning this horsepower war. The GS350 will complete destroy the 530i with nearly 50 more hp, and be almost as fast as the 550i, even with a 57 hp and 2-cylinder disadvantage. The IS350 is also making the 335i playing catch-up. This is great.
Lexus understands that although everyone is praising BMW handling, 95% of drivers on the road today will utilize acceleration over handling. No point in having the ultimate handling when your opponent is 5 cars ahead of you.

I have to object a bit to the statement that the GS350 is out since i have a 1000 dollars deposite at the largest Lexus dealership in the midwest at Southfield Michigan, and they said that the GS350 will not arrive till late August/September. Now, I have bought 4 Lexus from this dealer and I know the sales manager very well, so I take his word. I called another Michigan Lexus Dealer and they said that it will not come till late August/October and they dont have any specific date or info. What gives..

Handling is very important. It not only adds "fun" to driving, it adds safety. I don't wish it on anybody, but once in a while, we all run into those "oh *****" moments. The car's ability to follow your command could be difference between "pheeeew..." versus "woo woo" (ambulance ... sorry )
