'06 GS 10K Mile Service
I wanted to know how much you guys paid for this service. I called the dealer whom I bought the car from Prestige Lexus and they quoted me $150 without a loaner. They said I have to make an appointment 2 weeks in advance in order for me to get a loaner car! The service only includes oil and filter change and FULL CAR INSPECTION. Tire Rotation upon request is $60 extra. I also called Lexus of Englewood, who quoted me $206.00 for everything. Holy Crap.
When I called Tri-County Lexus, they quoted me $90 and they will not give me a loaner because I didn't buy the car from there.
When I dealt with Infiniti, they gave me a loaner everytime I went in for service. Warranty or not. I expected MUCH better service from Lexus. I thought it would blow me away based on what others have said about Lexus service.
I am on the edge as I don't know where to go. The closest dealer to me is Prestige, but I have to get to work somehow! Please advise.
Thanks,

If you can get a loaner with 2 weeks advanced notice, I think that's a fair deal. In my experience, an oil change/tire rotation takes less than 2 hours, and you can't blame a dealer for not wanting to give out loaners for that.

It's amazing how much pricing varies between dealers. The 10k is a pretty basic service, oil change and rotation.
Regarding loaners, it's also a hit or miss between dealers. Some are so busy that two weeks notice is imperative. Others will have a lexus loaner at the ready. Sorry, but your best bet is to establish a good relationship with a SA. That way, he can get you an appointment and loaner with little hassle.

I agree, save the money and go to a reputable non-dealer professional shop. Get it done while you wait, less down time plus you watch your car and make sure no scratches or dings magically appear on your body and no curb rash magically appear on your rims.

When we lived in the Cleveland, Ohio area my Lexus dealer charged about $130 for this service, with loaner.
That was the last time I took my GS to a Lexus dealer for service. Since then I've been using Toyota dealerships for oil changes. The first Toyota dealership in Ohio didn't reset the computer oil change reminder, although I told them make sure they do it. All they did was enter the next oil change maintenance reminder in the NAV system.
The next Toyota dealer I used in North Carolina for an oil change correctly reset the computer. I told them to make sure they do it, and not just the NAV system reminder. Cost was about $45 which included 5 quarts of Castrol synthetic oil.
