I'm a bit torn about this decision that could make
My family all owns Lexus'. Even I have an ES330, but now I want to get rid of it so that I can upgrade my car to a BMW E46 M3. I don't know if the decision I'm making is a good one. So, I decided to make a compare and contrast.
BMW: Inline 6
HP: 343
Manual
Bucket-style racing seats
Excellent throttle response
Nice road gripping experience
Pain in the *** clutch
The horrible gas price and awful fuel efficiency
Harmon Kardon premium sound system
That's about it for the M3
Lexus GS: V8 (woohoo)
HP: 300
5-speed Automatic (no pain-in-the-*** clutch!!)
Cushiony seats
Good throttle response
Nice ride when you're stressed, bad ride once you get tired.
(I fall asleep easily and that's not good when you are on the
freeway)
Mark Levinson premium sound system (quite comprable, in
my opinion)
Nice screen with DVD and cool back up sensor (but why need it?)
Bluetooth
cool LED lights in the interior of the vehicle
Better trunk space
Actually use the backseats and can fit three, maybe four girls in
the back.
cool aircon seats
You know what, why bother with the BMW? It'll only give me hell after the warranty is up. Its as if BMW has a time bomb on their vehicles. "Oh, that guy's warranty is finished. Lets mess up the engine first."
Overall, I'm happy with my decision and I can't wait to get the GS430. I just need to redo a few things on the vehicle.
The front bumper is cut, the housing for the headlight is scratched, the interior has dog hair, the back bumper is scratched and all of the rims are scratched and one is cracked. Can someone give me a rough estimate of how much this'll cost? If it gets too high then I may have to go with the M3.

Please stop ragging on certain non-Lexus vehicles. Lexus is not the only manufacturer of fine automobiles AND some of us are happy owners of BOTH Lexus and BMW cars. Enjoy your GS430!

forgive me for making that statement. it was ignorant of me to say such things. I understand that BMW has been making vehicles for over 50 years and that they are the bench-mark for the coupes. I appologize for making a bold statement such as that. Thank you, I will.

2. 6 speed automatic
3. Compared to competitors, the trunk space is bad on the GS
But good luck with the GS430 purchase. It's a nice car.
