Wink Any Pics of GS300 AWD with GS430 wheels>

Hi everyone,

I recently got a new 2006 Lexus GS300 awd Silver/ash. I am loving every moment with the car, and its one hell of a sedan with great technologies and driving feel. I am a guy who loves sporty cars but for once the Lexus GS does it for me as a daily sports sedan that does not compromise the ride too much and is very comfortable and convinient. Other than tinting my windows, I am so looking foward to getting rid of my standard wheels:

I was hoping anyone could show me how the GS300 AWD looks with the 18inch GS430 wheels since the car is a bit higher than the GS430 so I do not want to get wheels that might require the car to be lowed with tanabes. I just want to get good sets of wheels to replace the standards.

let me know!

It cant be that much higher can it? You'll fnd plenty of 430 pics, the 300 and 430 will look just the same. Correct me if I'm wrong but the height difference would be moot.

It's half an inch higher. I think it makes a fairly big difference.
If you choose a mesh pattern like spiders it looks even worse.

I am working on the pics and they should be up in a few minutes
I hope.

Is this height difference a 300 vs 430 difference or a AWD vs RWD Difference. And if its the former, whats the reason for the height being different?

Correct. AWD sits half an inch higher...

Ewwwww, I know what you mean now, that looks terrible. Please post pics once you get them lowered and looking sleek.
Good luck.

You know, it isnt that bad though. Its hardly noticeably that it sits a little higher. At least there is even wheel gaps in the front and back unlike some of my old japanese sedans that had huge wheel gaps in the front and little in the back. I might consider to get the 18 inch from the GS or go ahead and get the machined tourmaline ones

Looks great! .5" isn't much of a difference but if you ever decide to sell, let me know.

The pics do make it look worse than it seems in person.

I find the GS430 OEM 18's pleasant to look at (muscular in a
stylish way). I think it is one of Lexus' better wheels

From my analysis I believe the AWD sits .5" higher because of the coil spring. The rear suspension is almost identical to the RWD but the front suspension differs because the front struts are deigned like a FWD car to accomodate the FWD shafts.

It no longer looks like those pictures since I put on some
aero parts.

I'll post pics next week if the weather cooperates...

I had the GS 430 wheels on my GS 3 AWD and they looked great, and the car drives/handles better with the 18s. I sold the car due to the rattle issue, but have the wheels for sale now.
