I will post the MSRP when I get the chance. People who are shopping should definately call around...better yet go to the dealerships and see what their best price is. I imagine that they will take you more seriously if you show up to see what they can offer.

Maybe they would be more flexible at the end of the month, but they had the color and options we wanted and the unit availability is starting to dry up. What I found out last weekend was invoice information that you get off KBB or Edmunds does not include the regional advertising fee of $522 that every dealer I talked to adds to the base invoice to come up with their invoice price. None of them were willing to give that up.

that's right. the invoice they show you at the dealership will always be higher than the internet's.

lisa, you're right, the prices are probably better in the south since we have like 20 dealerships down here. it's easier to shop around. It's not really $800 below invoice, because they add the bullshtt fee to pad profit, and they get like 40% discount on destination charge.
But nav-only cars are so plentiful here that they should be much easier to negotiate.

also, getting invoice or below usually has nothing to do with quotas. Most, if not all, dealerships hit their quotas. Some have 700, some have only 200.

if you can't get the price you want, buy a cheap Southwest plane ticket and come down and enjoy a short vacation.

oh yeah, another thing i recommend is to mess with their head. Tell them why their car is not worth as much as they're asking for, and mention how there are so many bogus fees to pad their profit.

What options does it have? If the MSRP is 46K it must be pretty basic.

The other thing is I've had so many dealers/salesguys "claim" they can't go any lower, but then they call you back with a lower price. One guy said he makes no money if he goes below $45,700, but then an hour later he calls back and said what about $45,200?

Usually how long does it take for them to call back? I have contacted several dealerships and hope to get OTD between $46500 to $47000 (with Nav/ No ML). Just wondering?? I am in So Ca area...

it's all salesman/manager games.

so cal LA vicinity is easy. you'll probably get your price soon enough. keep calling different managers. you'll get one that is desperate.

Default Bought GS 350 AWD

MSRP of 52,116. Got the car out the door for 49,700 approx. I had to go back and forth between two dealerships, but it seems like the best price i could get. Cali dealerships seem to have much lower prices.

One dealer that didn't have what we wanted told us that only 8 GFM/Ash cars w/ML were built for the May/June period for the 11 state west coast region, so we grabbed it while we could. We were also told that the factory is shut down for July and next month they start building 08's which will show up at dealers in September. It's possible the pricing may be a bit better in Southern CA. What we found Last weekend in Northern CA is that $45,500 was as low as most of the dealers were willing to go for the car you are looking for. We bought ours which has a $51,763 sticker for right at 50K out the door. 2 of the other 3 dealers told me that was a great price and said "buy it if that's really the deal you are getting". You may be able to do a bit better toward the end of the month.

I am assuming you mean .00185 instead of .00085? How did you pull off $7200 off MSRP...wow...

That's $1189 under the invoice w/regional advertising price! That's the best deal I've heard by far. Enjoy your car Lisa. What color did you get and where did you end up buying?
