lease rates on gs350awd
I went to the dealship today and a full loaded gs350 awd was coming to 820 w/ almost 4 k out of pocket. The purchase price was 49k. They said the lease residual was 52%. Did anyone get a higher residual? That seems very low. I went to look at the Infiniti M's and they have a 75% residual. The dealer said there are currently no programs for this car. I guess I will have to wait for incentives.

Residual sounds too low for a GS350. The residual through September 4 for a GS300 RWD is 50% and .00067%. If what you were told is true, then I suspect dealers will move off of MSRP for the GS350 much sooner then expected.

If the 2006 gs300 was at a 50% residual, how come the payment was in the high $500's? Shouldn't the residual be in the 60's? That would bring the monthly payments into the high $600's. I pay $790 for a GS430. I'm not paying more for a GS350. I don't want to have to buy a Infiniti. I really liked the drive of the GS better than the M35.

I mentioned this before but never saw a response. Can you put down Mulitple Security Deposits (MSD) on a Lexus lease? I have heard you can put down 9 MSD's--dont know if that is true.
50% residual seems WAY to low

You wont get a Lexus for an Infiniti price. They arn't the same prestige factor. The same goes for the fact that you'll never get a Benz for a Lexus price. Just because the GS isnt priced like an M doesnt mean its wrongly priced.

What I meant by pricing correctly is the financing portion. If you believe this about the prestige of Lexus and Infiniti, explain this- why does Infiniti have a 75% residual and Lexus 52%? The cars are priced exactly the same. Check out the Infiniti M it is suprisingly very nice. I thought I would get another Lexus, but this car gives the GS a run for its money. I loved my 430 but now I am a Infiniti owner. My lease is only 21 months, so I might check out the lexus out again. I'm sure they will increase the HP again by then.

It was at 50% when I bought mine...
I pay $522 + tax for mine... no nav though...

The Infiniti was 1500 down and 700 a month with every single option on the car for 21 months. The lexus fully loaded was 850 with 4k down. It was too good to pass up. Enjoy your Lex, I liked the car a lot.

Infiniti sets the residual to help sales...
Car to car the GS350 will be closer in performance to your GS430 than the M35X so that is somewhat of a compromise. The M35 is very good looking IMO. They don't sell well in our area but others have posted that nationally they are on par with the GS. I expect that once the word gets around about the GS350's performance we will start to see our first M35's traded in. Did you get the M35X for the AWD? I would have expected you to look at the M45 after coming from the GS430...Enjoy your new car.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but since I've just gone through the experience of trying to lease a GS350 I thought you might be interested.
After 2 test drives of the GS350 I decided it might be the right car to replace my M45 and Maxima. I received a lease quote yesterday from the dealership for $899 per month w/ $3,400 down (36/12,000). They used a 52% residual. When I originally asked about a 2-year lease the salesman said it wasn't even worth it and I could probably get out of the lease a year early without paying any money. (Ya, right. )
For obvious reasons I decided to keep looking. I went by the Infiniti dealership today and received a quote on a 24-month, 12,000-mile lease on an M35 w/ Advanced Tech and Nav for $660 per month with $2,100 down. They used a 70% residual. The GS350 is a great car, and I was looking forward to having one, but there is nothing that makes it worth $239 per month more.

06 GS300 were leasing cheap because of the very low money factor but its residual was 49%, which is horrible for any Lexus IMO. My dealer offered an 06 GS300RWD with Nav/ML fully loaded to me for $680/month for 36months, 12k miles, with 0 down, taxes rolled into payment. I thought it was way too high.
The dealer had no programs for 07 GS yet. BTW in NYC u have to special order not only the 430 but also the 350RWD model also.............I think Lexus has lost its mind. No wonder the Infiniti M, 5 series, and E class are selling so much better.

Yes, the salesman called me back this morning to see if they can save the business. When I reminded him the M35 was $660 per month for 2 years vs. $899 per month for 3 years , he said "well the GS goes for about $10,000 more". I sent him a link to the exact car I'm leasing. The MSRP on the M35 is $46,800 vs. $50,000 for the GS. For me as a consumer, each car has it's strong/weak points but overall they are equivalent.
Okay, I'll let it go now, but I would have like to have tried Lexus again. I'm excited about the GS350, but Lexus is way too cocky about a product that is not a new model but has only been "refreshed". As someone else said, 99%of the buying public doesn't care if the HP has been increased or the nav system is superior. I know the difference and I won't even pay the additional cost. We'll see how the rest of the buying public accepts it.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone here for posting their leasing scenarios/info.
I am a big fan of the 350 and have been following it as much as I possibly can.
I will be coming off my 04 GS300 lease next August and was hoping to get into the 350. It is definitely on top of my list. (I know, it is early to be looking, but what can I say? i have a wandering car eye )
So, all this info is extremely helpful as I try and figure out my alternatives.
Hopefully, some of these leasing numbers will change between now and then and become more feasible for me.
I hope they do. I am a proud member of the Lexus family and want to stay that way.
