Ways to add HP to GS430?

6 HP difference, less torque, lose the V8 feel and sound? Nahhh~ You can gain 6HP by putting on an exhaust by itself. There are other things you can do like add an Intake, ECU remap, and torque converter. These are some of the less intrusive things you can do for less money, well certainly less than a Supercharger.
GS350 306HP
GS430 288HP
That's an 18hp difference not 6hp.

Exhaust doesn't do much except to either have a stock ecu go rich as crazy(some do); or if a static tune, then lean.
You get a big benefit from straight pipes, but I don't see a lexus gs living 80% of its life on a road course strung out rpm wise to take advantage of the ultra high rpm throttle response

Man this is the easiest question to answer. Get yourself a wet nitrous kit for your car. A 50-75 shot wet kit will give you the same power to the wheels as a supercharger, but at a tenth of the price for the unit and the install. Wet kits will allow you to run the NOS without fear of running the motor lean or doing damage. The kit I helped a buddy install on his G35 sedan was set up with an piggyback system that will allow your nitrous system to be used in only a cetain rpm range and can ecen be set to shut off after 5-7-10 seconds. Pretty cool stuff now a days. NOS is not the damaging element it used to be. You run a wet system so the motor never runs lean, and spend the extra 4-600 bucks and get all of the electronic goodies like the timers, cut offs, and even a bottle heater and automatic opener. My friend has a 2003 Ferrari 360 Modena with a 150 shot nitrous kit. Yes its true this dude put nitrous on a ferrai. The guys at the scottsdale ferrari clubs dont like mods on these cars, but drive the damn thing and you will be sold. What I am trying to emphasize is that you can use nitrous safely if you know what the hell you are doing. The only negative is that you will need to keep going to a local performance or race shop to have the bottles refilled. CHECK IT OUT BEFORE YOU DRAW YOUR CONCLUSIONS THAT I AM NUTS. YOU CAN PUT NITROUS ON A LEXUS. ESPECIALLY A V8.

Im bumping this old thread because not a single person with the exception of a few actually answered this two year old question....
So....im debating to go forced induction or building this 3uzfe up....I need quality feedback as this is going to become a reality for me. So alright grease monkeys, what are my options? and I dont want answers like buy a new car or get nos..I love my 2gs.
I realize this is in the third gen section but its the same motor i believe...i could be wrong

I feel your pain brother. I put in a K&N replacement filter and ordered Tanabe medallion exhaust. Try this part from Jet. If you can do without your car for a few weeks. They reprogram your stock ECU to your specs. Simply tell them what you have done to it and what you would like. Short of these 3 things, theres not much available for the the ol 430. Contact Jet for more info.

The actual HP of the 430 is the same as the 06 300hp and 325 tq
The 350 is 303hp and 274tq.
I realize that Lexus changed the way they rated hp in 2007, but no changes were made to the motor. So technically, the hp and tq #'s are still the same.
The difference is the torque. 50 is a big # HP is what wins races yes, but torque puts you in front and helps pull the RPM up faster. And with only a 3 HP difference, but a 50 ft/lbs of torque difference, I stick with the V8. Plus the exhaust of the V8 destroys the sound of the 6. IMHO

instead of trying to make my gs430 something it's not, I just bought a 5sp 5.0 coupe for fun. now I enjoy the gs for what it is, a quiet, comfy, reliable cruiser with enough power to still surprise a few.
after being into lexus stuff for a while, it's amazing how cheap and how many mods there are for these cars now.

Since your GS is a 2nd gen, I'd recommend you PM JeffTsai for suggestions. He's a monster when it comes to FI, he's done it all. He'll be able to give you the pros and cons. Do a search on JeffTsai and his GS, you'll be amazed at what he's done. Good luck.

panda has been here longer than jeff but if he wants to learn how to catch his car on fire he can check with jeff. besides 3uz is nothing like 2jz.

LOL! well my understanding is that jeff didn't use enough heat wraps. IF he had installed more of that, the results would have been very different.
as for panda, well you know about him more than i do, so no comment. it just seems that jeff has more exposure when you do a cursory glance at 2nd gen GS with FI (which is why i mentioned his name).
good point about the engine, it was an oversight.
