Default Seibon Carbon Fiber Parts

I was just curious if any of you have modded your cars with a Seibon carbon fiber hood or trunk? They are half the weight of stock parts. I love carbon fiber, but it looks too tacky to put onto a luxury sports sedan.

SanseiGS43 has the hood and said that the weight is not much different than stock (i don't remember the exact numbers)... Also, the trunk supposedly came out looking like A$$... He ended up opting out of the trunk and kept the hood....

Hmm...if there is no weight savings then I'm not going to bother. I'm still interested in it because of its strength. Are the hoods high quality? I'm always worried about the parts fracturing or failing completely. I've seen pics of the individual parts, but not installed on a 3GS. I need to ideally see it on a flint mica 3gs.

Carbon fiber door molding would be nice!!!
That ruber thing on the side bothers me a little...
I use to paint black molding on my BMW... thinking about doing it...

Just paint them!!
You are doing it for the performance!! Not for the visual!!

Check SanseiGS43 's car.... He has a Flint Mica and he pianted the hood with a fade scheme... carbon in the middle and painted on the ends...

Do you know what type of paint was used? Did he have to remove the clear coat? Seems like the paint would just peel off.

From what I know, he painted over the hood and then cleared over the entire hood after the paint fade... You really have to see it in person.. Impressive...
