Default Wheels and Gas mileage

What up fellas I was curious on something...... I have been trying to figure out why my gs300 gets crappy gas mileage. So here is my question, would the 22's on my car give my car an false reading on the gas mileage? I know that it in theory should affect the mileage that the odometer reads but Im not sure about the gas mileage.

I noticed a lot of folks are getting great gas mileage but I am not. I get around 19-22 with my setup.

You are right, mph does get affected and you have to adjust, but with MPG it should be relative to what is actually occurring...all of that unsprung weight...but boy do 22s look nice.

I get between 22 and 26 mpg, but I'm driving to and from work in rush hour traffic. I have yet to test it on a long road trip, but I'm assuming I'd be able to get in the 30's.

When I am driving to and from work I am on the freeway for 26 miles and there is no traffic at the times that I work. I wonder if it is just reading wrong

Physics 101 - Did you say 22's? And your wondering why your getting poor fuel economy? Usually 22's weigh a LOT more than the stock wheels. The additional weight is going to play a role at every turn (literally). Whenever you start from a stop, it will take more energy. Whenever you are turning, it will take more energy Whenever you stop it takes more eneregy (and your brakes will wear out faster), etc. Why do you think that many of the guys that track their cars try to find the lowest weight wheels. You can have the "bling" of the 22's or you can have the solid fuel economy that others (with lighter wheels) are experiencing. Even if you "could" find a lightweight 22" wheel, the thing would probably warp when you hit your first pothole. Check the weight of that tire/wheel combo and see if it's not at least 2 or 3 lbs heavier.
