Sirius Sattelite ?? I have searched..
OK. I have read the posts re satellite but most are from months ago.
I am buying a 2006 GS 300 with Marl Levinson, etc., it has the SAT button on the front menu so it is satellite "compatible".
What do I need to do to get Sirius on the car?
and
Is the satellite problems I have read in the past still an issue or has that been resolved.
ANy input is appreciated, I am located in Southern CA.

But Sirius is at least temporarily not available.
Spoke with Lexus field tech yesterday. He said they have a "stop sale" order on the Sirius units -- as in, they've been ordered not to sell 'em -- due to poor quality control at the Chinese factory that has made the units. XM is available, but no Sirius. (There are of course aftermarket units available from others.) They said they hoped to have a Lexus-approved Sirius offering again but no forecast on when.
I have the Sirius in my 430 and it has been 100 pct fine, except for the funky-looking antenna (which is now solved with the new sharkfins) and the fact music only displays with 10 characters on the screen -- design issues both, not operating issues.

The Sirius system in my dad's GSh doesn't work as well as the XM in my Denali XL, sound quality is not as good and it cuts out way too soon going under overpasses. I think that XM is better, and I think that the later Lexus generation NAV systems will have instant XM traffic rerouting as well, a la the 2007 LSh and the Acura RL.
