Yet another Phonebook/Bluetooth question
So I just got a Motorola Q from Verizon , the software on the phone is 06.07.03p, lexustalk has instructions for 04.08.04p, just a little behind I would say. The phone transfers the contacts to the car without an issue until I go to the phone book and try to use one and they are all grey'd out. I cannot use any of them, it's like I am in motion yet I am not....very weird.
Otherwise the phone itself works fine, even shows signal strength and transfers single contacts (when the guide from lexustalk said it would not) - the setup was completely as advertised....no problems, except for the phone book.
I have ML with the Nav 5.1 on a GS300 any ideas ?? I will try to contact Lexus to see what they say ...

Did You Try Going To The Setting Menu Of The Bluetooth Window On Your Gs And Select Phone Book Transfer?
I Got A Razr And I Had To Transfer One Number At A Time Into The Gs...it Sucked But Had To Do It.

got them transfered
one at a time, not a big deal but all of the entries are gray, not available for use....I just came from the dealer and this confused them as well....very strange that they would transfer then not be available....

still shows as unavailable
I thought that was it because I do not have a 1 in front of my numbers, transfered a number with a 1 and still it shows as transfered, I see the name but it is grey and not available to select....oh well

update on the Verizon Q
I finally got my numbers transfered!
there has to be at least 7 numbers attached to the contact then the numbers transfer and are able to use and assign to the 1 touch functions.
(I know it is not the best option, but I created the names and attached the same number 7 times in outlook, then transferred them via usb to the phone then to the car)
I did the nav wire overide last weekend, now I have full phone functionality -all of the time and as a bonus my passengers can watch video's (when I am not on the phone)

Enter a list of names and phone numbers (no spaces or dashes) into a bluetooth PIM. Make all the contacts under the same category. I use a palm. Then pair the PIM as a BT device in the car. Finally, SEND CATEGORY ---> BLUETOOOTH.
This will upload the entire address book all in one shot. The address book in the car has nothing to do with the address book in the phone.
