Default GS350 DD Bypass Wire Color

I was thinking about performing the DVD bypass tomrorow on my new GS350 but I read a post somewhere that the color of the wires changed... the pink become white with a silver dot? That was from a post from a 07 GS430 but I just thought I'd confirm this with anyone out there....

Found this on another forum for gs450 5th gen nav. Sounds like it's the white w/ silver dot.

If you do it please let me know. I'm expecting my gs350 soon.

Anyyone know if there is bypass harness available?

(it's post #135)

a bypass harness?? lol c'mon now, you can make one yourself, do you really want to shell out $30 for something you can make on your own quicky with very little cost? if there is a market for these, i can make and sell.

OK,

I did this on my 2001 landcruiser about 4 years ago and it still works great- Awsome vehicle btw (135,000 Miles and just broken in)

I have not even purchased my gs350 yet and just wanted to find a way to do the bypass w/o cutting wires. I've read through many posts and have not found the option.

I can cut and ground but not familiar with making a harness. Any direction is appreciated.

well you won't be able to do it w/o any cutting. You'll have to cut the wire in question and run a switch. There is no true harness available, it wouldn't be worth making a whole new plug for just 1 wire. A switch will basically allow you to disconnect and connect the wires with the flip of switch in your cabin.

the locations of the wires are different in the GS, you have to get behind the nav unit

OK...

I took possession of my GS350 and opened the center console to see behind the nav computer. The connector closest to the driver is the same as in all the other posts with the pictures, HOWEVER, the connector closest to the passenger (H1) is totally different - a whole different harness... all different wires... more positions.

Which brings me to my next point... has anyone figured out how to do the DVD Bypass on a GS350???

I called CostalTech and they have NO lockpicks that would work on a GS350 at the moment.

I'm still negotiating my gs350 and would be very courious on the bypass question. I've found nothing on the web. I plan to buy within 20 days. so if anyone out there knows the fix please reply. I probably won't spend the $$ on ML if a bypass is not available.

you don't have to get the ML, you can get NAVI w/o ML

my guess is that he means, he doesn't want to get the ML if the bypass doesn't work cause the bypass allows you to watch DVDs while driving..

Yes.

That is what I meant.

I'm now on the fence - I'm looking at a used 15K 2006 gs300 awd w/ nav and may tryto pick up for 35-38K. I'll see which way the wind blows tommorrow.
