I've burned 3 DVDs and wasted them cause they can't read them....although I might have been impatient....I let it sit for about 5 mins thinking that the DVDs are going to take them a while to read, didn't work...maybe if you let it read for 10mins it might....
let me know how it works for you, if you try it

Nope, does not work. Seems like it shouldn't be a problem since it can read MP3 CDs including sub-directories as folders and has no trouble displaying track names and folder names. Oh well, instead of 4.7gb x 6, I have to settle for 700mb x 6 which is not too bad considering 6 x 80min audio cds in the changer is about = 300-400mb of MP3s

I'm curious (before I waste time burning one myself ) - try it with the car in park and the parking brake on. Maybe it thinks all DVD's are videos and just blocks them automatically unless the safety conditions are met?

Already tried it. Does not work. The only other option is to burn a DVD audio disc. The system should be able to play that but in the end, you will probably get more songs onto a disc by burning MP3s on a CD. I just loaded up my car with 6 MP3 CDs and it really is a lot of music.
No big deal. What I really want to know is the correct wiring mods to make for the DVD hack to allow it to play video while driving and the nav nack that allows nav/phone input while driving. The phone thing is the stupidest thing I have ever seen. It's far more dangerous to force someone to dial on a touch screen PDA device while driving!

wanted to merge my info about this subject onto this thread, fei. I've tried burning different kinds of mp3 dvds (dvd+r, dvd-rw) and being patient and they don't load. It does seem really silly it can read movies but not mp3s. From the manual there is a limit on the # of mp3s per disc of 255. And having a dvd full of mp3s would easily exceed this limit. I'm thinking this is the reason they were not including support for this because the folder storage for random play wasn't large enough. They really need to put a few more megs of memory and support mp3dvd's ...
