The DRL is the high beam bulb, just operating at half wattage. The other smaller bulb is the parking bulb (168/192 type). High beams are 9005 and fog lights are 9006.

This might help a little bit. An Acura TSX owner puts PIAA Tera LED 6000k in the foglight.
I don't know how it will work in DRLs since it uses half of voltage.

I've got those LED 6000k piaa's on my DRL....its not worth the money....they are not as bright, and in the day time, you can't tell if its on or not unless you go really close...like about 3 feet close....even with half the voltage its a bit dimmer.

Have you tried to put the LED in the foglight? It should look better I guess.

Thumbs up Turn It Off

I had my DRL turned off on my GS350 at the Lexus service, all you need to is let the service advisor know that in the owner's manual it allows you to have it turn off. All they have to do is hook your toy to the computer and program "DRL OFF."

This way, you do not have to look at it and be irritated by the yellowish DRL!!!

Good idea....I never thought of that...but then again with the plethora of notifications in modern day Lexi (proper plural for Lexus??), you very well may get a "blown bulb" warning in doing this.

Can someone give this a shot and inform us if it works without triggering a warning?

i did it on the IS300 and it was cool. But the GS may be a more advanced beast.

I just got shot down at the dealer. I told the advisor to turn it off and at first he said he can't so I told him its in the manual and he said ok. An hour later I get a call saying the tech won't turn it off because its a safety issue and the foreman won't let him. I got to try another dealer.

I don't care about the color, I hate them and want them off. I'll go the dealer and demand they turn them off. Then I'll try begging. Then I'll try bribing. Then..........

It's an option in the owner's manual, just point that out and they should do it.

Ask the service manager and technicians what they drive and see if they have DRL's...

It is in the owner's manual, they have to shut the DRL off per your request.

Unless you live in Canada, in which is required by law to have DRL on.

Default Owners Manual

I have an '06 300 and I looked in the manual for something that stated we could elect to have the DRL's disabled but could not find anything. Has anyone with an '06 had the dealer perform this?
