Quick question, when does your parking light(little bulb next to the high beam) turn on?

I just recently bought a used 06 300 2 days ago (not from a lexus dealer) and wanted to know if I would be charged just for going in to turn off the DRL's at the lexus dealer or is it a complimentary type of deal?

Since you bought your car on the secondary market, I would think you'll have to pay. You might get them to do complimentary if you went in for an oil change/other scheduled maintenance. Or maybe you could get them to give you a free update to Lexus Personalized settings and get it done as part of that. It's not a labor intensive change for them. Probably depends on the mood of the service rep

Some dealers are nudgy about it even if you are willing to pay.

Is there a way for the owner to turn off the DRL's (hidden menu screen)?

I replaced my DRL with VLED 68 M-SMT bulbs with the inline DRL module. Here are some pics:

in the garage at night -

front view (sorry for the poor quality - it's really not THAT bright)

Nice. Are you saying just a bulb change or is another module needed?

There is an adapter to use DRL at full power. I found the solution on the 2IS forum here

I bought the DRL module and the LED bulbs from v-leds.com

So I plug my existing bulb plug into the module and the new bulb in the outlet of the module and that's all? Also, does this mean that you no longer have high beams?

well..
the base of LED DRL light bulb looks just like regular light bulb.
so, here is what u do
remove the stock light bulb and plug in the LED light bulb
connect the stock harness directly to the LED light bulb
let's it. u dont' add or replace anything except factory light bulb

the LED light is not that bright. in fact, u can barely see it under sun-light.
and YES, that means u give up high beam.
u still can flask ppl with ur LED light bulb
but it's so NOT shinny that no one can tell u flash them
that's why i remove it and change back to stock light bulb
i dont' flash ppl, but u never know when u need high beam~

Thanks boaclub923. I don't want to give up high beams as I need them. I often travel those old rural country roads. To bad, I sure liked the look of the DRL's matching the low beams.

I suppose there is a slight tradeoff... The other option is to use normal bulbs instead of the LEDs. This would mean during the day, you would essentially have your high beams on...at night, the DRL would turn off and only be used when flashing people.
