Default Finally broke it in!

All I can say is wow, this is quick for a 6 cyl. I've put 1600 miles on it since I bought it 2 weeks ago and now I can really see what it's capable of. Passing power is very impressive and acceleration from a stoplight is very very good considering the car's size and weight. The car is just so damn snappy and responsive that I can't wipe the silly grin off my face. The ride is so smooth and quiet that on a good road that I find myself wondering why I didn't buy one sooner. I absolutely freaking love this car! This may sound stupid but I haven't driven my BMW or Porsche since I bought the GS.

Agreed on all points...which makes you wonder why the car magazines always give the GS such negative marks for exactly the same attributes. Bunch of German car bigots...

2thfixer, I just passed 1500 miles myself, the car is great, but the only complaint I have about my car is the lower lumbar of the seat. After going to Vegas (750 mi roundtrip) and Carmel (400 mi) my lower back hurts. I have tried some other seat adjustments, but I can't find a comfortable position. Guess I will have to carry a small pillow with me on long drives.

I love this ride. It's a little rocket.

NIDAN: Atleast you were able to take you car to Vegas, I only had 500 miles so I wasn't able to take the long haul in my baby.

I'm making the Bay Area to Vegas run on Halloween - then another round trip to L.A. a week later. That ought to give me enough feedback to decide whether the Yokohama Advans need to be replaced or not. I've only hit 500 miles in four weeks, but that is a LOT of local driving for me. The GS makes me want to go out and drive - which is a really weird emotion.

1600 miles in two weeks!! Wow! I'm at 350 miles or so after 1 week. I can't wait to break her in so I can gun it. I am very impressed with the driving soo far. It's a very smooth ride considering I'm rolling on 18s.

By the way, is the break in period 500 or 1000 miles? I've heard both numbers thrown around.

Advans, huh? I've heard mixed reviews on those. Mine came with Dunlop SP Sports, which I've had no problems with.

Update.... got rid of the BMW yesterday. It was getting dated looking and there was nothing that it could do that my GS couldn't. Woo hoo!!! Now my GS can go in the garage!
