Watup my fella 3GS owners!!!!

It is finally here. Nice and shiny in my garage. So glad i didn't have to wait long for my 3GS. The dealer told me I had to wait two weeks to get my car. However, it showed up early last week and brought it home this weekend.

I been searching throughout this forum everyday, looking for my future mods. Big ups for all the SICK 3GS's in this forum. After the painstaking research to mod the 3GS, I finally have come to a decision what i like to get done.

I know this is not technically a modification, but I got my Escort Passport X50 hardwired today. It was really simple. I followed the direction to the V1 hardwire instructions and presto!!!! Its was done. And sorry I don't have pictures. I will help in anyways if there are any questions.

For my future mods, I will visit a local shop for my new 20" blings. Along with the bling, I will look into RANDO body kit. Clean and Simple. Thats what I want. Plus, Rando kit is sick looking. Also, contemplating whether i should lower the car or not. I am not sure the ride quality or whether if they will rub. My friend is going lower his 06 GS300 soon. I will check out his ride and decide then.

Oh by the way, anyone has any idea how much is the HID fog lights goes for? Or where I can check them out on the forum or the website. I think those are nice.

Will have some pics soon. As soon as when i get my 20" blings. Everyone has the stock pics up so i don't want to bother.

One more thing, CLUB LEX ROCKS!!!! Nowhere on the web can get this much info on Lexmobiles.

The HID kit goes for about 450.00. You just need to decide whether you want 4500's, 6000's, or 8000's for fogs.
As for the Passport, like it?
I got my V1 and Blinder 40 installed on mine... stealth and a detector. can't be seen<<.

I had my X50 for a year. So far so good. I went with the looks. It looked better then the V1. However, ppls said it was good and trusted them. I think it works well in Houston. But I hear V1 is also a great radar. As for the laser jammer, there is not much use for them here in Houston. I haven't heard anyone who was shot with laser so far. Maybe look into purchasing the jammer soon. I want it bullet proof. Damn Coppers!!! J/K. However, there are other mods i really want done before the jammer though.

Did you install that remote signal/mute in-line unit as well? Where did you end up puting it? I'm waiting for my x50 to arrive (Amazon running a nice sale, $260 for the red display). I'm planning to install radar in the upper windshield area, but not sure where would be the best place for that remote unit?

No I had to buy a hard wire. I have it ran through the rear view mirror slot, along the ceiling and down the pillar and connected to a fuse box. Its mounted up next to the rear view mirror. Its works great. Try it. Its alot better then the smart cord hanging around. Plus, there is no need for the mute button on the smart cord. You can just reach up to the radar and push the mute in the front since the radar will be right above your head.

I don't have the Escort, personally found from all the test the V1 to be a better choice. So I installed the V1 hardwire coming out of the center speaker casing on the dash... I like it low, right belowthe path of sight, rather than having to look up and away from the road. Then I installed the remote, above the steering column. Personally it was the best choice and the spots I had it wired were perfect. might help...

Hmm, I actually end up ordering direct wire w/SmartChord



It has all the same controls that come on cigarette lighter smartchord power adapter. I'm planning to setup x50 in the same spot at the top of windshield next to rear view mirror. A few of my friends suggested that mute button was a little out of reach and would be better on a remote unit So, I was thinking connecting it somewhere close to the steering wheel. I probably have to look more into that V1 installation where a remote unit was installed.

What rear view mirror slot are you referring to? Can you take a picture or maybe give a more detailed explanation? Also, I didn't have a chance yet to look for a fuse box, where exactly is it located and where/how did you connected it in there? I would prefer doing that rather than clipping to ligther socket. Pics are always welcome

I installed in on the column just belkow where my radar ready screen is. I will try and take a picute later today.It's just a little 2 inch wide, 1 inch tall stealth box. Fits nicely on the column.


"I" didn't do the install. I was next to the lexus tech who did it, and he showed me each step. He wired both the box and the unit to a separate fuse (I think the same fuse as the front center cigarette lighter). Since I never use it, it's never be a problem.
For now loow at the placement. It's below line of sight, which is better for less distraction, and it is seemless.

Just curious Jace, how much did the Lexus tech charge for the install? Looks very sharp/nice.

took about 2 hours, becuase he srink wrapped and sauderd (sp) everything. very clean. but he only charged me 100.00.

$100 is a fair price, considering they have to go through a central speaker grill. My local shops charge anywhere from $100 to $150. I just enjoy doing it myself, don't want anybody else take away from my fun

I just tapped mine into the wires for the rear view mirror.. took about 15min and works perfectly.. really didn't see the point of all the extra wiring and another little remote display..
