Verizon Treo 700w and the GS350
I visited my dealer the other day and was asking her is she could tell me what works and what doesnt with the lexus bluetooth system. Of course she didnt know much but told me about the section on the lexus website which I reviewed.
Anyone have some real life experience with the GS350 and the TREO 700 from verizon? I just picked up the phone today and want to make sure it will at least work in the car.
TIA
Carl

Yes, it works fine. You can't transfer numbers from the phone, but works 90% of the time as long as you wait until the second ring to answer the phone and give it a second to switch on.
There is no signal strength or battery indicator, but basic functionality works fine.

my sprint 700wx does and doesnt work with the BT system... it will connect, but after making a phone call or just plain idle time, the car will lose the connection with the phone, seeing the 650's work with no problem I see it as a palm issue, I have contacted them about it and they were quick to say "get your phone replaced" but this is a common complaint over on treocentral dot com... so I am just waiting ever so patiently on a fw update from palm... but I am not holding my breath.

Strange I had a co-worker in my car at lunch and his 700wx paired fine to my GS350. He made a couple calls and had no problems. The only problem I have with my 700w is the need to pause slightly to make sure it picks up. My wife figured out how to pair her Motorola Q without any help when she ran up to the store. I don't know if the battery or signal strength works with the Q or not.

I agree and disagree from my own personal experience. I had a treo 650, not a problem not once. Just got the new 700wx from sprint, and it does about 40% of the time pair properly. The other 60% it only pairs once I dial from my phone. Then it links up. Very bothersome. I hope they will come up with a newe patch to fix this. I don't have any suggestions what to do as I am still debating my options with my problematic 700wx.
WIth my old. 650 the car actually displayed the proper signal strength, with the new 700wx, there is no display at all of the signal strength. Oh well. Bah.
