What percent over Invoice is reasonable for a 2007 GS350 AWD?
I am ready to deal on a 07 GS350 AWD. What is a reasonable percentage over Invoice to shoot for?
- The car MSRP is 50,596 and Invoice is 44,322

I was back at the dealership today, asked the salesman that exact question. He said identical car today on the 1st would be $500. more. I think it also depends on their stock, and what is coming inbound, but they were definetly wanting to get a deal done since it was end of the month.

Do you know what the difference is between a car salesman and a software salesman?
The car salesman knows when he's lying

I agree you have to take what they say with a grain of salt, but I have bought quite a few of new cars in my life, and when I have done a deal at the end of the month, they are more motivated to get a deal done.

I wouldn't pay a cent over invoice EVER. For my gs450h, even though dealerships only get "maybe" 1 every few months, I paid 1 grand UNDER invoice. But then again, my job is negotiating every day for a living.
Never pay more. Just learn to negotiate better.

I tried 500. under invoice on my new GS350. I talked to almost every single dealership in So Ca ready to buy that day. Every single one let me walk away over a 6 week period! Only 2 or 3 in all of So Ca would do a deal 100. or two over invoice. When they say take it or leave it, and you leave it and they do not call back... Not sure what else there is to negotiate.

im sorry fellas im just not buying half the posts on here about guys paying 500 or even paying at invoice for a new car at the start of the model year. the last post claims 1K UNDER invoice. do you think your walking out of a dealership thinking your stole their car right from under their very noses? they're probably making a killing on you. ill be honest i paid 1500 over invoice here in the northeast for the AWD. i visited 6 dealerships and all were pretty much in the same ballpark. all would not budge too much from their offer. i dont regret what i paid, but i didnt want to wait till the end of the year to get that great deal like everyone on here claims to be getting now.

I got 2500 for my trade in than what I could get anywhere else, which was about 1 grand less than if I sold it myself through craigs.
I also got almost 4 grand in total, for 3m, detail, V1 harwire, and car, off the price. THey had this car for 1 day off the boat, and havent got one for 3 months since mine. They negotiated. another family member will be buying a 600h from them probably, so maybe that was my negotiating power. Who knows. but they will negotiate.
