Replace Gen 4 ML/Nav with GEN 5 ML/Nav

Yes, it's much better.
The higher resolution alone is worth it, even angled text is silky smooth.
Also lookup location by phone number is useful.
The voice recognition is still totally useless - it takes about 24 steps to voice dial someone.

sometimes i wonder if trying to keep up with technology is even worth it. lets say you upgrade to the 5th Gen. nav. that is available in the 07 lexus and you paid lets say 2k or 3k. now in 08 gen 6 comes out in HD for example. would it be worth it to upgrade again? i really dont think trying to keep up with technology is very cost effective, unless money is no option. i have the gen 5 nav and im very happy with it. i dont think ill make anychanges till i decide to get a new car in 5 years. im not saying im against upgrades, but at what point does one say enough. in sure technology is at least a decade ahead of what is sold to the consumer. so in a nutshell is making the nav conversion worth it? i really dont think so. it's only my opinion. we all know that opinions are like A....... everyone's got one.

Most of you guys are correct. I was just trying to see if it's do-able. Anyways, you never know, there might be a cheap Gen 5 head unit for sale on ebay for a really good price. If I am confident it would work in my car, i'd buy it.

You really think outdated nav is what gets us (the 06 GSers) ...how about that engine......45K should get you 300 horses, not 245 !!!! Even a g35 or camry v6 put out more horses in the 06 model... That was the lamest thing Lexus could have done IMO....pisses me off greatly, but it serves me to get a car w/o researching it a little more

Yeah, i agree with you Eyekutr, I contemplated the 300 but lukily was told by SGT about the 350 coming out. Then found out about the nav change, so I put off even considering the 300 and now plan to buy a used 350 in a couple years. Are there some inexpensive mods that you guys can implement to get up to a respectable horsepower?
