Default Need a lil help with the next mod: Sound System

Ok, here it is. I am looking at doing the JL Audio Cleansweep, a Rockford Fosgate T8004 amp for the mids / hi's and T10001bd for the subs. I'm thinkin' to JL Audio 10W3v3-8 Subs.

What I need to know is the size of the dash speakers, and the door speakers. I'm assuming the door speakers are 6 1/2" coaxials. I'm not sure what the set up is on the dash board.

Anyone know??? Once I determine this, this mod should occur in a week or two.

If you can afford a Lexus GS why not purchase high fidelity audio equipment to replace the OEM components. Example, McIntosh, Xtant, Dynaudio, MB Quart, etc.? For subs, JL Audio is good. When I was into high fidelity car audio systems these were the big names.

Rockford Fosgate owned MB Quart for one, and there are other good brands out there.... I am looking for size fitments, so I can determine what brand speakers I want to go with based on application. The Power Series Rockford amps are actually pretty dope,... there is always better / more expensive,... for me it's about finding the balance of cost / feature / quaility. $900 amps are by no means HIGH END, but a long ways from LOW END.

I am replacing everything in the car minus the head unit obviously due to the touch screen.

Crutchfield has not always been overly accurate with their fitment matrix.

** just checked crutchfield, and as I suspected,...they have not researched this vehicle yet **

I would tear it down to get the sizes..that way you are 100% sure...you can add to the forum for others...and you'll be that much more familiar with the teardown once you get the goodies to replace em

if you're planning to replace all the speakers and use seperate amps consider using something like the Audiocontrol LC8. I was considering doing the same in my IS if did a complete system.

right now i'm evaluating which line out converter is going to be the better choice.

I've narrowed it down the JL Audio Cleansweep, and the Audiocontrol LC-8.

Just a few other minor details to work out... I'm not gonna do the labor.... gonna pay one of my peeps custom shops to do a custom enclosure and amp rack to minimize wasting the trunk.

Fair enough, if you're not confident on your sources for speaker specifications you can always contact Lexus technical services http://techinfo.toyota.com. I have used this source to find out very useful suspension data.

from what i recall, the Cleansweep only has 2 outputs. you'd probably be better off using the LC-8 unless you want to defeat the factory eq settings, which the cleansweep does. so far ive seen someone use just an LC-8 or an LC-8 + cleansweep.

If I were you, i would go JL Audio all the way! I know it may be a little more expensive, but you would be paying a bit more for a lot more quality. If you like to fine tune your system and not just turn up the bass or the highs, you would regret not buying JL Audio. When you hear a car with a Jl Audio system, you will understand. So if you ask me i would tell you to get evreything from subwoofer to door speakers to amplifiers, all Jl Audio!
