Default Has anybody compared GS350AWD with '07 Infiniti G35AWD?

I'm just curious if anybody has done a driving comparison between '07 GS350 AWD and '07 Inifiniti G35 AWD? On a paper those look very close (horse power and all the bells'n'whistles), but how would they go head to head in performance and handling "outside" the paper?

Thanks!!!

Infiniti wins on performance. Lexus wins on luxury and quality of materials.
If you prefer a softer ride, the Lexus is better. If you prefer a more connected, sportier ride, the Infiniti is better.

You really can't compare these 2 cars. You are in the CL forums so I doubt you will get any of us to vote Infiniti...

But if you really want to compare...you can try the IS250AWD vs G35AWD. Most would compare the GS to the Infiniti M series..

IMO when you compare the G35 to Lexus GS350..you're pretty much comparing apples to oranges?

I've driven both cars extensively. The bottom line is neither car is in reality what it appears to be on paper.

G35X - about 5.8 secs 0 to 60, engine pulls hard but is jumpy, transmission holds revs for some reason, slight downshift lag when you floor it. Manual might fix this. Ride is very stiff. Luxury feeling just isn't there.

GS350AWD - perfect car in every respect, accelleration is smoother but pull is just as hard 0 to 60 in about the same I think, way more luxury feel. Downside is ride is too soft - not a drivers car, A6 4.2 is what this car should be, maybe mods can help?

They are apples to oranges.

Totally agree with HemantS and ucmyGS350's comments. I owned a 2005 G35x for 18 months before trading up to the GS, and in my opinion there really is no comparison. The M35/45 is the one to compare against.

My experience with the G35 was... it had a sportier (stiffer) ride, but after awhile I really hated the noise of the engine in the cabin. My experience with Infiniti customer service was pretty poor. The brakes on my car started to squeak regularly after 6 months, and Infiniti's response was that's normal. Quality of workmanship/materials particularly inside the cabin is hands down no comparison.

Here's what really stood out for me on the GS:
- Blown away by how quiet the cabin is, yet the car is still a rocket and sounds nice when you put the pedal down.
- Transmission is smooth as butter. Not so on the G35.
- The fit and finish of the interior is amazing. You can just tell that every detail has been thought through.
- Better gas mileage from an engine with greater HP/torque.

That's just for starters. Good luck.

I had a 2003 m45 and my lease was up this month. I drove the m35 and the gs350. I am now driving the gs350.....main reason...the styling......I don't like the new style of the infinit....also...drive at 50 MPH in each car and then floor it.....that will make up your mind.......

SID!!

You should put a few pics of your new GS350 in the Glacier Frost Mica for all of us to view...that alone should do the convincing itself!

I'm picking up Glacier tomorrow ...I probably can't sleep tonight!

There is NO comparison The GS350 is on par w/the M35 not the G35x. G35 is on the same level w/the IS350.
