Default Gen5 Nav - When was it introduced and how different?

Dear all

I was wondering if some of you could tell me when did Lexus introduce Gen5 Nav system in the GS series?

Also, what are the improvements over the older system?

Many thanks

It was introduced in the GS series in the 2007 models.
The screen has a higher resolution and much better
graphics. The Gen4 looks very pixelated and LOL, I think
it looks worse than the Gen3 NAV I used to have.

The Gen5 looks extremely sweet. If you do a search for
the new NAV. I think a few people have posted pics.

Thanks marshmallo for that

So a car manufactured May 2006, will it have a Gen5 Nav?

Is there a way of finding out from the car's screen, if it has the Gen5 Nav?

Thanks

07s didn't start arriving here until late September. A car manufactured in May will definitely be an 06. It will have the Gen4 Nav, not the Gen5.

Does anyone know the cut off manufacturing date for GEN5 Nav?

It's the 2007 model year, so a GS450h manufactured in May, 2006 will have it, while a GS430 or GS300 manufactured at the same time will not. Only the 2007 GS450h, GS430, and GS350 models will have it.
