How much are they and how much does it cost to get installed? The dealer is quoting me.

Install is easy by relatively easy from the looks of it, and a GROUPBUY is coming up soon....

I emailed VAIS Tech a couple days ago regarding the timing of the next CL group buy ,and they responded back that they are planning one and may have it posted on CL as early as next week. I believe the last group buy cut about $90 off the posted sale price so CL members were able to pick it up for about $210 plus tax.

more than likely answer will be yes....in fact it is compatible with most current lexus vehicles, and will probably stay that way

FYI - Those interested in a VAIS Technology group buy will want to keep checking in the Club Lexus Vendor Marketplace. That's where VAIS tech will announce the group buy. Hopefully we'll see it next week.

I have a question for your IPOD owners who has this system already setup. Is it necessary to charge up the IPOD once the battery has been used up or the power supply is built in the IPOD adaptor? I am looking into some other source of music system for my 3GS but I don't have a IPOD. This adaptor and and IPOD is interesting if i don't have to recharge the IPOD all the time. Plus, does this only work with IPOD's? How about other types of mp3 players. I hate to go out and get another mp3 player just for the car.

GryPhantom - Yes, from all I've read the VAIS Tech SoundLinQ (Model SLI) is made specifically for the iPod and does supply it with power while its connected. So the beauty of it is so long as you drive your car regularly your iPod will stay charged and when you're ready to take it with you, you simply unplug it and you're on your way. At least that's how I plan to use it.

While the SLI and other VAIS tech units come with Auxilory input port to connect other devices (for example other MP3 players), the down side is I don't believe the aux ports have the ability to control the MP3 player from the cars LCD screen and it won't power the MP3 player while its connected. At least that's my understanding. Others with these units please correct me if I'm wrong.

Also keep in mind that the VAISTech until will have better sound quality with the same MP3 on a different MP3 player. If you look at the graphic on this page http://www.vaistech.com/sli.html that actually shows the iPod you will notice that it connects via an iPod only connector that supply power in, audio, and in the next gen video out. This audio out is equivalent to a line out, and not a headphone out which is amplified and thus distorted. You will get better quality audio with the line out.

Of course this won't make much of a difference if you use poorer quality MP3s as source in the first place.

Wow, you just sold me on the SLI adaptor. I love the fact that i will have a music server in the car and upgrade whenever i want. When is the next GB? I saw on the vendor market that vaistech will have one coming up soon. Any idea about video ipod working with our lcd screen. This will be another upgrade to the music player.
