Default Question for you wheel experts

Hi all,

I have a 2007 GS450h with factory 18" wheels + summer tires. I am starting to search for a winter tires now. My situation is that I currently have a spare set of 18" wheels from a 04 RX330. Here are the dimensions:

07 GS450h:
18 x 8 +45 offset (the size are from 06 GS430 18", i assume it's the same)

04 RX330
18 x 7 +35 offset

Would it be possible I can buy a set of winter tires and mounted them on the RX330 wheels and put on my GS450h as winter tires?

Thanks in advance for any the inputs!!

It might work, it's going to be trial and error. Is there a tire on that RX wheel? If so, mount it on your 450 and see what it looks like. Else, it will be hit or miss. If I were you I would try to find a low cost set of new or used GS300 wheels.

Nope, the RX rims I have has no tires on them. I know for a fact that the factory tires size for GS450 is 245/40-18, and I am thinking of going for 235/40-18 winter tires on the RX rims then put on my GS. Do you think it might work?

ok, i dont own any gs' so i cannot verify accurately. but it looks like you should.

Calculations:
18*8 +45 is close to 6" backspacing and more than 2" front spacing (approx 2" and 5mm or ~2.25").
18*7 +35 is close to 5" backspacing and more than 2" front spacing(approx 2" and 2.5mm or ~2.1").
so, if anything, more than likely you are just simply getting an 1" worth of extra space between your suspension and tire distance.

Conclusion:yes.
