check balancing - at 60 mph, there should be no vibration anywhere... it could be your tires as well.

has nothing to do with cold weather...

It could be the gasoline; even with "name" brands, there are differences in gasoline quality. Try using Shell's highest octane gasoline. I did not read the entire thread, so please excuse me if this has already been discussed.

Try to inflate your front tires about 7psi more than your rear tires. this helps take force off of the rear and the vibration should go away some, not totally though. But its not noticable like before.

The IS250 AWD loaner that i've had all this time has a very similar vibration, and is even more noticeable the last few days as it has been much colder.. now if this were a lexus version of the toyota tundra, which I would buy by the way (hint hint to lex, something to compete with the escalade EXT ), i wouldn't much care about the vibration..
Hey Kuch123, how is your 3Gs doing? Did you get it back from dealer yet?
there is my story......
I got my car back today... after they replaced both engine and trans mounts. they said that both mounts were collapsed by 1.5 inches. this is what causing the excessive vibration at idle. I thought "wow that 's great finally ".
I start my car, and wait engine gets warm. I gear in D....Still...vibration come again but a little bit better..just a little bit. I turned off AC\fan\heat the vibration got worse. So I ask the "diagnostic specialist" who handled my case came out to feel my car again. He siad they replaced the mount...%#%$#.
I said "It doesn't matter how many parts you replaced, the problem didn't solve."
They said they can only offer me that to talk some one from corporate.. WTF

what should I do guys

thanks for the update! still at the dealer here.. but might get it back soon.. i went up there last week and they had put on the full assemblies of shocks/springs from another 06 GS.. it did improve somewhat but vibration is still there.. they are going to put mine back on then put my original springs back on as well.. they think the lowering is causing an increased angle on the joint between the wheel and transmission in the front.. but again, it's still there with original equip anyway.. they had already changed all my mounts as well, even spark plugs.. i have a feeling they will tell me it's acceptable with my original springs back on, but IMO the 48k GS should not be vibrating any more than the 35k IS or ES.. I've also heard that they actually found vibration problems early on with the 06s and did make a production change, but no TSB was ever created.. Worse case i'll drive it a while with the original springs back on and if it gets any worse, then i'll push for a replacement.. they have a used 07 350 on the floor w/only 2k mi on it.. I'll be more than happy to buy it if they're willing to let me out of my current lease with Lex Financial.. or i'll just drive what i have until the GS-F arrives

i say we collectively send a letter in to corporate w/all of our VIN#s of cars having the same problems that apparently can't be fixed, and say fix it, or get us into new GS's or every one of us will file a lemon law claim.. that should stir things up

i already filed lemon law claim to lexus in March but they turndown my case because of my car has not been in shop long enough....come on ...the dealer had my car total for 3weeks

Next step, my attorney is going to draft the auto warranty lawsuit in court, hope can meet lexus' lawer and talk about what settlement i can get...

Wish me LUCK guys.....

I encourage every one whom has this excessive vibration problem, file the lawsuit against Lexus..
