ahhh but Lexus uses a much softer leather that does wear and crack. I've rarely seen this in BMWs as the leather is harder and more durable (It happens just a lot farther down the road). I had the same thing in my Supra and needed a new steering wheel.

For you guys who don't like the wooden steering wheel i would love to trade you with my black leather is350 steering wheel... i'm pretty sure it's do-able... the tabs for your voice recognition and volume adjuster looks like it pops right off... so does the IS.. let me know... we could try to arrange something.

I too didn't care for the wood wheel and put on a cover like the first post. Other than the color not being right I like the fit and feel. I may change it out for another color in the future.

This thread just goes to show that you can't please everyone, no matter what. I remember a thread on the IS forum a few months back w/people WANTING the wood on the wheel. If they had put a GS steering wheel on the IS, it wouldn't have looked right with the rest of the car, IMO.

There's no accounting for taste!

I like wood on the steering wheel, but I am not a fan of the redwood
on the black interior... Either brown or black wood look better to me.

Well, in order for everybody to be happy, he could just take the cover off and take pictures to post up on Club Lexus. And for him to be happy, he could just leave the cover on the rest of the time.

I personally like Black leather/Golden birds eye maple...very sophisticated yet elegant at the same time.

Agreed - so why doesn't Lexus make it an option?

I'm a fan of the wood wheels. I don't see how they are that slippery to you guys. maybe you need to wash your hands or the wheel, or both.

I also like the way the wood feels in summer when the ac has been blowing and it's cool.

Here you go.....
Europe offers non wood wheels standard, not sure you can get a wood wheel GS in Europe (never seen one there).
Not sure if you can order one and swap it out

Even so, I like the fattness the cover gives me.
Oh well. I'll keep this, until hartge, from BMW makes me one custom.

that's actually rare for a 430 to not have wood wheel.

I'm actually going to give the GS350 a test drive for the first time this week at Lexus. For the past few months I've still been undecided what to buy, been looking at the 5 series too.

I totally agree though, I dont like wood on steering wheel, wood also tend to make it less sporty, you can't make a fat steering wheel out of wood, using all leather allows for a more sportier wheel such as in the new IS and the 5 series w/ Sport Pkg wheel, thicker, nicer in your hands.

I also don't like redwood so much, I really love the blackwood but I don't want grey interior, I want black. I agree that THAT wheel cover doesn't make it look very good, you might want to try the leather covers that lace up, if you get a black one the laces will be black so you won't see them and it will also cover the redwood underneath little better than your slip on one.

Oh, can someone tell me if this Nav on the 07 GS350 is the same Generation as on the IS350 is is it a different gen Nav? I liked the real life graphics on the IS.

Navi on the 07 GS350 is identical to IS350. Both are Generation 5.
