Which Dunlop runflats come on the GS 350?
#2
My GS300 came with Dunlop SP Sport 5000M DSST and I think the 350's have the same. I'm having a problem finding a lightweight spare. I plan on changing to a non run-flat. My dealers parts department told me that a spare tire kit is not yet available for the GS.

lexus doesnt just use a single tire supplier for any of their models, some come with michelin, others with bridgestone, etc. therefore it would be difficult if not impossible to tell you which tires the cars on the lot may have at any given time.

I'm getting a 2007 GS350 and am wondering if it comes with a spare tire. I am changing the run flats out immediately.

A regular spare is listed as an option at lexus.com if you get the 18 inch wheels. I don't care for the runflats either, but plan to at least live with them for a while.

While we're on the subject...
I past 20K last week. I have decided to swap the runflats for conventional tires.
I want a nice, soft, cushy ride. Can anyone recommend a specific tire in 225/50-17? I checked tirerack and although there are lots of choices, they do not make any recommendations.
Continental ContiTouringContact CV95
Goodyear Eagle ResponsEdge
Michelin Energy MXV4 S8
Michelin Pilot HX MXM4
Also, I got rid of the runflats on my BMW and I had constant air leak problems with the conventional tires mounted on the runflat rims. Has any GS owner swapped out the runflats? What are your experiences?

I am also interested in anyone who has swapped out the run-flats and had a leaking problem that you mentioned.

Here's a good article on runflats.
http://autos.aol.com/article/safety/...14154009990001
They no longer require different rims. Note also the reason they put them on AWD cars is that the space saver spare can damage the differential. I assume that Lexus took this issue into account since it provides a space saver spare in case you have to drive more than 50 miles to get your run flat fixed.
Damn it, why can't they just give us regular tires with a regular size spare!!??

I am picking up my GS350 in 2 weeks and the first thing I'm doing is to swap out the Run-flats for a Set of Michelin Energy MXV4 S8. I called Michelin and asked about the best All Season, Longest wearing and Quietest and smoothest ride. This is the tire that they recommended for this car for me.
