Default GS 350 AWD not available in California?

I'm currently going through transmission issues with my ES and I was looking at getting rid of it to go with a GS350 AWD. However when I contacted local dealers I was told that the AWD is not available in california!

Anyone heard of this?

If I can't get it in California, what about Nevada? I'm going to vegas in a couple of weeks.

Californians simply can't afford to be seen driving around with that kind of wheel gap.

They sent the vast majority of the initial allocation's AWD's to the Midwest and East, according to my dealer. You'll have to do a special order if you want one.

It's not readily available as the RWD counterpart but they are out there. You can special order one but there is at least a 2-3 month wait for that.

Just the opposite here in the Northeast. We can't buy a GS350 RWD, unless we special order one that'll take 2-3 months. We only get the GS350 AWD allocated here.

Matt, why are you looking at AWD? You are in CA and don't have to deal with our East Coast snow/ice/rain/pothole and other "crap" weather LOL!!! Get yourself RWD with stock 18" and ride in style

Thats exactly what I wanted to tell Matt about the "crap" we deal with here on the east coast.

Living in CA, you have to take advantage of the climate and nicer roads. You definitely don't want that huge wheel gap from the AWD vehicles.
