New 07 GS 350 AWD - Bluetooth questions
Hi everyone,
I'm new here and trying to absorb all the phone issues. Just got a 07 GS 350 awd, nav, non-ML (purchased at Tri-county Lexus NJ $44,451 , white / black interior). Really love it so far. I have Verizon service with an LG VX5300 phone. Here's my understanding from posts that I have read here - please correct me if I'm wrong:
1. If the incoming call is not in my GS phonebook and I'm on the highway I will not see any incoming call phone number (this is what is happening).
2. If it's in the GS phonebook I will see the number on the screen (with the 1 number I tested this seems to be true).
3. My LG VX5300 will not transfer phone numbers to the GS trying to use the transfer function (this is happening to me).
Questions:
1. Can I transfer the LG phonebook to a laptop then transfer the laptop to the GS ?
2. Is there another way to transfer the LG to GS easily?
Thanks for any help. Great forum.
Regards.
David

Welcome and congrats on your new GS!
I believe Verizon does cripple certain bluetooth capabilities on their phones, not sure if transferring contacts was one of them. But in theory, if you have a bluetooth enabled laptop and can transfer the contacts via something like Outlook using bluetooth, then that may work. Just not sure if what is sent to the GS would be recognized by the GS.
As for incoming calls, I do believe that I've seen numbers show up that were not in my phone or car phonebook... however, sometimes numbers do not show. Not sure what is going on there.
